Bulk Generate QR Codes
If you need to create many QR codes at once, you can upload an Excel file instead of generating them one by one. This guide explains how to prepare the file and run the import.
Download the template
- Go to QR Codes in the side menu.
- Click the Bulk Generate button.
- In the modal that opens, click Download Template to get a sample Excel file.
The template shows the columns your file needs. Use it as a starting point — fill in your data and upload it back.
Prepare your Excel file
Your file must be in .xlsx format. Each row represents one QR code.
| Column | Required? | What to enter |
|---|---|---|
| customer_name | Yes | Name of the person or business for this QR code |
| vpa | Depends | The VPA (e.g. name@bank). Required if your merchant uses its own VPAs. If your merchant uses dynamic VPAs, you can leave this blank and the system generates one for you. |
| amount | No | Fixed payment amount. Leave blank for open-amount codes. |
| note | No | A description or note for your reference. |
Rows with a missing customer_name are skipped automatically.
Upload and import
- In the Bulk Generate modal, choose a merchant from the dropdown.
- Click the upload area or drag your .xlsx file into it.
- Click Submit.
The system checks your remaining QR code limit before importing. If your file has more rows than your available slots, the import won't start — contact your administrator to increase your limit first.
Own VPA vs. Dynamic VPA
Your merchant is set up with one of two VPA modes:
| Mode | What happens |
|---|---|
| Own | You provide every VPA yourself in the Excel file. Each must be unique. |
| Dynamic | The system auto-generates a unique VPA for each row. You can still provide your own if you prefer, but blank VPA cells are filled automatically. |
If you're not sure which mode your merchant uses, check with your administrator or try leaving the VPA column blank — the system will tell you if it's required.
Tips
- Start small. Upload 5–10 rows first to make sure the format is correct before doing a large batch.
- Check your remaining limit. Go to the dashboard or the Generate QR Code screen to see how many slots you have left.
- One merchant per file. You select the merchant once in the modal — every row in the file uses that merchant.
